This story explores how being a first responder impacts not only the individual, but the family behind them. Through a series of paired images, it contrasts home life with work life, revealing the emotional and everyday divide. At its core, the piece highlights the unseen weight carried by both first responders and their loved ones.

This ongoing personal project follows Myka, my younger sister who was adopted at three months old. What began as documentation of my mom learning to care for and style Black hair as a white mother has grown into a more personal story about identity, belonging, and family.

For this Code Red story, I worked with a writer to highlight the unseen dedication behind women’s sports. We followed athletes through their full routine from pre-game preparation, locker rooms, practices, to game-day performance.
